All through the 1970s, 80s & 90s Camera Care Systems - or CCS for short - were the UK's World-beating manufacturer of superbly padded protective cases for cameras, lenses and all kinds of photographic equipment and other technologies
Their huge range of cases were once all manufactured in the UK at their very traditional factory near Bristol, with their trademark blue cases used by many - if not most - professional photographers to protect their expensive cameras & lenses from knocks, bumps and being dropped, better than any other alternatives out there. Even today, many photographers still thank CCS with recollections of their equipment surviving falling off tables, down stairs, rolling down hillsides and even dropping out of planes !
Sadly, in the early 1990s, CCS tried to expand by attempting to conquer international markets; they moved production to the far-east, changed their case colours to black & grey, and removed the Union Jack flash from their logo & labelling. As those of us who were CCS dealers back then, we can recall how the manufacturing quality dropped, the international buyers didn't materialise. After struggling for some years, the business finally closed in 1999.
