So who are imagex ?

January 2013

When the previous company known as Jessops*  announced they were closing for business in January 2013, the two managers of the Bicester branch knew that a great opportunity had presented itself

Although that Jessops operation had owned the business for just six years, the Bicester branch had a twenty-year history as a camera & photographic services shop, and was consequently very well supported by many local regular customers

So with some financial help from family, friends and a small number of local 'Business Angel' private investors, they set about taking possession of the store and reopening it as an independent operation once again

imagex opens - 1st March 2013

In the photo above is (L-R) Paul Crockett (Partner, imagex), Dan Sames (Mayor of Bicester), Charlie Ross (celebrity auctioneer and TV presenter), Tony Baldry (MP for Bicester), Robert Peckham (former Partner, imagex).  Jon Stratton (Partner, imagex) is in the background to the right

Meet the team behind imagex ....

The partners of the imagex team are all local to Bicester, and worked for the Bicester branch of Jessops before getting together to set up imagex

Jon Stratton (centre) joined Jessops part-time in 2008 while studying Media Technology at Oxford Brookes University, for which he graduated in 2012.  A keen landscape photographer, he can often be found investigating the hidden technology features of any camera that is placed in front of him ...

Paul Crockett (right) was the manager of Jessops in Bicester since 2010, but had originally joined the branch two years before

A keen Fujifilm X-series enthusiast, he's been known to spend hours pouring over a customer's image in Photoshop just to make sure everything is perfect.  Paul is the worthy master of our photo services technology, occasionally finding things our digital printing system can do that even Fuji didn't know was possible ...

Robert Peckham (left) departed the business on 31st March 2017 - you can find out more about this event, and see where he is now on his Facebook page

Colin Morris is the former MD of Morris Photographic, for many years Oxford's favourite independent photo retailer, later moving his business to Chipping Norton before it closed in 2014

Colin joined imagex in October 2014, bringing his many years of photographic retail knowlege and experience to the imagex operation
