When the previous company known as Jessops* announced they were closing for business in January 2013, Robert Peckham - a local entrepreneur with extensive business ownership and retail management experience - recognised that a great opportunity had presented itself
Jessops had taken over the Bicester branch of their business six years previously, but this location in Sheep Street already had a twenty-year history as a local independent camera & photographic services shop known as 'That Camera Place', and was consequently very well supported by many local regular customers
So in partnership with two of the ex-Jessops staff, plus some financial assistance from family, friends and a small number of local 'Business Angel' private investors, he set about taking possession of the store and reopening it as an independent operation once again, on 1st March 2013

.... there you have the original imagex - The Image Experts
After four very successful years of operation, Robert Peckham resigned from the business he founded on 31st December 2016, and left the partnership on 31st March 2017 - you can find out more about this event on his Facebook page
The two remaining ex-Jessops members of the original imagex partnership team then attempted to continue running the business, but in March 2019 sadly the original imagex was forced to close.
In June 2019, Robert Peckham announced plans to re-establish imagex with larger premises in a new location, with a new team, new management and a host of brilliant new services and facilities, just two minutes walk from the original store.
