Town Accomodation Things To Do

We went with ProSail on the Matador (A maxi racing yaght which cost $45 million to build!).

Overall the trip was pretty good, the sailing was really good, but we thought we would have got to see a bit more of the beaches / islands.

Also the snorkelling was excellent, but we only got to do it once despite keeping on requesting to do it again - alot of other people we met who went with different companies got to do more snorkelling.

We were annoyed as when we booked the trip we were not told about stinger suit hire and reef tax which should have been built into the cost. You can buy a stinger suit for $40 but Prosail charge you $18 to use one over 3 days! - they said when we asked them that this was to cover washing costs etc.

The food was excellent on the boat. Whitehaven beach was beautiful, but no better than the beaches at Great Keppel Island and it was packed with hundreds of tourists.

Finally, we thought this ould be the best part of Australia - it was the most expensive at about $500 but definately not the best.

If you do a trip don't go with ProSail go with a cheaper company and put up with the not so good food etc - essentially the trip will be the same. We were very dissapointed with the ProSail customer service in the office, especially as evryone rates them as the best.

Things To Do

Snorkelling

Absolutely fantastic snorkelling, we have never seen so many fish. Sometimes you can hardly move with all the fish bumping into you.

You wont get to see any sharks or rays here as it is too busy with tourists, but there are some pretty big fish.

Diving

A few people went diving from our boat with ProSail, however I was just snorkelling and was swimming down as deep as they were diving (only about 4m).

Quite a few of the divers were unhappy as they had their time cut short aswell.
