This is probably the nicest town we have been to in New Zealand. It is not too big and populated but still has bars and pubs and a few shops etc. Also sits right on the shore of Lake Wanaka and very near to 2 ski fields. Treble Cone the best one in New Zealand and Cardrona which has a massive terrain park (but the lifts were annoyingly slow). Wanaka would be the perfect place to live in the winter. |

A very weird quite amusing place to go. Loads of optical illusions and a big 2 level maze to get through. Worth a visit. |

The best snowboarding in New Zealand. Unlike Arthurs Pass the fields here have chair lifts which is a bonus and at the Treble Cone fireld the lifts were super fast which made a load of difference. Went to Treble Cone the day after they had a fresh dump and was the best day of boarding ive ever done. Had a good laugh with Geth, Tristan & Nick - especially with Nicks 360 ski jump efforts (didn't land 1 of them!!!) Also amazing views from the top of Treble Cone on a good day. Also went to Cardona ski field on a day when it was snowing so bad you couldn't even see you feet and kept going off vertical frops without even knowing they were there! Good day though. Ashleigh however managed to hurt herself by falling of the chair lift when it got to the top, then fell over on the way down and then had to be taken down on a stretcher for a pulled groin muscle! |

Went to have a shot with the boys (Geth & Billy) Very good value - we did target shooting with .22 rifles and clay pigeon shooting with double barrel shotguns! |

Pretty nice, but a bit boring as you couldn't go out of the lake into the river. Ashleighs first time kayaking - she got scared when the wind started blowing the waves up and got out! |
