Sky Diving
|
The best thing we have done! The biggest adrenalin rush!
We jumped from 12,000 feet - the highest you can go without an oxygen tank. Also Taupo is the cheapest place in the worl to sky dive. It cost us $214 which is about 75 quid (this included a video aswell)
I think that doing the canyon jump in Queenstown was alot more scary as you have to jump yourself. With the sky dive onece you are in the plane there is no way down apart from out the plane door strapped onto someone.

Thermal Swimming Pools
|
Very hot! The swimming pools are full of water coming straight out of the ground. At its lowest point down the water is at 200ºC but is obviusly mixed with cold for the pools. There are 3 or 4 different pools with different temperatures. Very relaxing and good for your skin.

Surf the Earth - Mountain Boarding
|
Supposed to be the closest thing to snowboarding without snow - It slightly similar but very hard to get the hang of.
You also have to be prepared to hurt yourself alot. I cained my back on the first run and was held back a bit by the injury, but got into it quite a bit and even did some jumps and stuff which caused even more injury!

Huka Falls
|
Magnificent falls - huge river gets pushed into a small canyon. They are also the main source of electricity for the area.
Aparently some woman had fallen in and it took them 3 days to get her out as she was sucked right to the bottom!

Craters of the Moon - Thermal Reserve
|
Very strange place. Steam rises from the ground all over the place. Some craters are huge with bubbling mud pools at the bottom and look like something that you would see in a film set.

High Ropes
|
Really wanted to have a go on this but couldn't as I had hurt my back doing the mountain boarding.
