We just about managed to fit Kaikoura in before leaving the South Island, and it was definately worth visiting.
The town itself is pretty small and friendly with just a few pubs, which do get fairly lively - we saw a wet t-shirt competition one night, (Ashleigh would have won easily if she had entered!)

Dolphin Watching
|
Well worth the money ($65 - about 25 quid). We went out on the boat and about 100 dolphins were swimming around and under the boat. Then alot of people got off and swam with the dophins which we wish we had done now.
Overall a wicked trip.
