Darwin is the largest town you would have seen for ages if you have come up the west coast, but compared to other Australia cities it is rather small.
There are alot of digeridoo shops and art shops. There are a few bars which get quite busy on the weekend evenings and a good piss up will be most welcome after travelling up the quiet West Coast.
It was very humid and cloudy and rainy while I was there as it was in mid wet season.
Internet is typically expensive - ($4-$6 per hour) but I worked out a way of getting free internet everywhere!
