We got to Byron Bay just in time for the Rugby World Cup Final which we watched in Cheeky Monkeys on a reserved table in the middle. This meant that all round us were Aussies giving us a load of stick......... until they lost!!!
It was also schoolies week , so Byron Bay was totally packed for the few days we were there.
Alot of people like Byron Bay, but we didn't really, just because it was too touristy and all crammed in to one main street.
Good place to get pissed though.

When we got there, if you were not at the front of the queue of the Oz Bus then you had to pay more for a larger room! We were not told this before and after a long discussion with the staff they would not give us all rooms at the same price.
They should have been more accomodating - especially after getting 40 paying customers straight off the Oz Bus.
Compare this to staff at Great Keppel Island who gave one girl a double room for the same price as a dorm bed for her 1st night because they were full.
