Airlie Beach is a bit of a strange name as there is really no beach there. The closest thing is a man made lagoon - which is open 24 hours a day 365 days of the year with pissed backpackers all over the place you can imagine whats in the water!
The only reason to come here is to get on a boat to the Whit Sundays, pretty good place for a piss up aswell. All the bars try to compete with each other with special deals and wet t-shirt competions etc.

Pretty nice place, only 4 people per room. The 'FREE' cooked breakfast actually meant you had to cook it yourself - still a good deal though.
