Things To Do

1770 is the most southern part of the Great Barrier Reef, it is a very small town with nice beaches.
Agnes Water where we stayed is 5 mins down the road and is still a small town although slightly bigger than 1770.

The name is misleading as it is actually in Agnes Water (driving distance to 1770). Its a good little place and probably better than Cool Bananas down the road (location is better anyway)

Fitzroy Reef Lagoon Trip
|
This was our first trip to the reef and also first time snorkelling and we were not dissapointed.
Fitzroy Reef is about a 90 minute boat ride from the harbour in 1770 and you can snorkel around the reef all day. For $5 extra you can go off in a small boat to do some fishing where everyone caught a couple of fish each.
A round a wicked trip
WARNING : Do not go on the Lady Musgrave Island Trip
The bloke who runs that trip comes down the harbour and bad mouths everyone elses trips and tries to put you off from going on them even after you have pays. He said that the boats are all unsafe etc apart from his. Basically he is known down by the harbour as a complete tosser.
